Tags & Segments

Tags are colour-coded labels you attach to contacts to categorise them. Once tagged, you can filter your entire contact list to any combination of tags instantly — making tags the simplest way to create dynamic segments.

Creating a Tag

  1. Go to Contacts & ClientsTags.
  2. Click New Tag.
  3. Enter a Tag Name (up to 50 characters; must be unique across your workspace).
  4. Pick a Colour — choose a hex colour code to make the tag visually distinct in lists.
  5. Click Save.

The tag list shows each tag alongside a contact count — the number of contacts currently carrying that label.

Attaching Tags to a Contact

Tags are applied from the contact's create or edit form:

  1. Open a contact (or click New Contact).
  2. In the Tags field, select one or more tags from the dropdown.
  3. Save the contact.

You can apply multiple tags to a single contact. Tags can be added or removed at any time by editing the contact.

Filtering Contacts by Tag

From the contact list:

  1. Open the Tag filter dropdown.
  2. Select a tag.

The list immediately narrows to contacts that carry that tag. The tag filter works alongside status, company, and search filters — combine them to find exactly the segment you need.

tip

Use tags for pipeline stage labels (e.g., "Needs Follow-up", "Proposal Sent"), interest categories (e.g., "Event 2026"), or source labels (e.g., "Trade Show"). Keep tag names short and consistent for the best results.

Editing a Tag

  1. Go to Contacts & ClientsTags.
  2. Click the Edit action next to the tag.
  3. Update the name or colour and save.

Editing a tag updates it everywhere — all contacts already tagged with it reflect the new name and colour automatically.

Deleting a Tag

  1. Go to Contacts & ClientsTags.
  2. Click Delete next to the tag.

Deleting a tag removes the label from all contacts that carried it. The contacts themselves are not affected.

warning

There is no confirmation prompt before a tag is deleted. Make sure you no longer need the tag before removing it.
